The problem
Texas teachers don’t just teach. They write lesson plans aligned to state standards (TEKS), collect evidence for their own evaluations (T-TESS), and - since House Bill 1605 - face new documentation requirements around instructional materials. All of that is paperwork stacked on top of the actual job.
The pattern was familiar to us from every industry we’ve worked in: skilled people spending their evenings on administration instead of the work they trained for.
What we built
SafeGuideEd handles the paperwork side of teaching:
- Writes TEKS-aligned lessons - the plan starts done, and the teacher refines instead of staring at a blank page.
- Captures T-TESS evidence while teachers teach - evaluation documentation happens in the background, not as a separate chore.
- Signs every artifact into an immutable audit log - so HB 1605 compliance is a property of the system, not another checklist.
Just as important is where it lives: SafeGuideEd integrates natively with Canvas, Schoology, and Google Classroom - the platforms schools already run on. No new system to migrate to, no double data entry.
The result
In pilot use, teachers saved an average of seven hours a week. That’s most of a school day returned to actual teaching - or, just as legitimately, to going home on time.
Why it matters
SafeGuideEd is the second of the two products we build and operate ourselves, and it shows the same approach as the first: sit with the people doing the work, find the hours being lost, and build software that gives those hours back - with the compliance and integration details handled so thoroughly they stop being anyone’s problem.
